Measure Infotainment system update process using an SD card
Important: The images included below are for information purposes only.
The contents (text, etc.) may differ from those shown here. Safety measures for the software update: •Make sure that the resting voltage of the vehicle's battery is at least 12.5 V. A charger must be connected to the battery in order to maintain the on-board voltage throughout the software update. •Disconnect all unnecessary electrical components in the vehicle. During the software update leave all electrical components disconnected. •Do not simultaneously perform a diagnosis with vehicle diagnostics equipment. •The ignition must be connected on during the entire software update. •The engine must not be started during the software update. •Make sure no electromagnetic sources (e.g. mobile phones or wireless DECT phones) are used in the vehicle or near it while updating the software. •The software update is done through an SD card reader inserted in the Infotainment unit.
Software update procedure:
Step 1: Connect the Infotainment unit.
Step 2: Insert the software update medium (SD card) in the Infotainment unit card reader.
Step 3: Press the Menu key for 5 seconds to access the Service mode, see Figure 2 Mark 1.

Step 4: Select the Download Software/Versions option, see Figure 2 Mark 2.

Step 5: In the next menu, select Update, see Figure 3.

Step 6: Select the source of the data, in this case SD card, see Figure 4.

Step 7: Select the software version indicated for the Infotainment unit to be updated. Example in Figure 5.

Step 8: Press the Start button on the touch screen, see Figure 6.

Step 9: Read and confirm the informational text by pressing Next. See Figure 7.

Step 10: The update process lasts approximately 60 minutes and cannot be interrupted. During the software update the Infotainment unit restarts several times. The text shown in Figure 8 can appear several times.

Step 11: Once the software update has finished successfully, a window with the text Software Download: Result will appear, as well as the Update Summary text.

Step 12: Next, an indication of the compulsory data transmission for the software update that has been performed will display. It will have the following fault code registered: •B201A00: Software version management test. Delete the registered fault code.
To do this, connect the ODIS (Offboard Diagnostic Information System Service) diagnostics equipment and perform the LGA as follows: Instructions for documenting the version:

Step 13: Lastly, restart the Infotainment unit. Next, remove the software update medium (SD card) from the card reader.
Warning: The software update medium (SD card) must not be left in the vehicle (in the customer’s possession).
